This spring of 2023, we were informed by the family of KAMO, one of the founding members of Kigurumi Kagetsu, that he had passed away due to a worsening chronic illness.
Thanks to the kindness of his family, we were able to attend the wake and funeral, where he shared many stories about him from his childhood onwards, and we were able to share with his family memories of the 10 years since we met, the big goals he had set for himself, and the accomplishments he had made.
I want to help people who want to become furry creatures, and I want to create beautiful kigurumi that can be enjoyed all over the world.
In order to make that dream come true, Kigurumi Kagetsu was launched in the spring of 2020 by the three of us - Komachi (KAMO), Tsukimochi, and Keishi.
During his lifetime, he was a costume creator who collected materials and learned techniques for making costumes, and used his refined skills to support Kigurumi Kagetsu, producing costumes that are loved by people in many countries across borders.
I can still vividly picture him at his desk, concentrating on his work.
However, due to our lack of ability and various misunderstandings, he left Kigurumi Kagetsu in January 2023.
The costumes he created will remain forever as a testament to his life.
The skills he honed continue to serve as a major foundation for the production staff today.
From now on, we will accept the wishes of his family and strive to become the world's best mascot costume workshop in order to make his dream come true.
With the hopes of his parents and the feelings of those of us who were his friends, that his achievements be shared with as many people as possible,
We would like to introduce some of his work. Please take a look at the costumes he has created.
We would like to pay tribute to his great achievements, express our heartfelt gratitude, and pray for the repose of his soul.
